Some of our rescue pets

These animals are available for adoption! Some of them have been with us a long time and are therefore available to be sponsored. I'll be updating this section as much as I can, as we have lots of rescue pets currently and more coming in all the time! I'll also put photos up as well - bear with me as it's a bit of a mammoth task to get all the photos organised!

Rabbits

Toby

Species: rabbit
Breed: English Spot
Gender: male, not neutered
Age: 1 year
Status: adoptable

toby

Inquistive, affectionate and clever, Toby is a favourite among everyone at Paws Here. Abandoned in a box outside our doors just before Christmas, Toby has been looking for a new home for a little while now. He enjoys digging, running around and watching all the action at Paws Here.

Dolly and Diana

Species: rabbit
Breed: cross breed
Gender: female
Age: unknown, presumed less than a year
Status: not yet adoptable

dolly

Dolly and Diana were part of a group of ten bunnies who were rescued from very bad circumstances by Paws Here in mid June. They are very frightened and will need a lot of time and effort to build them up and make them more confident. They are also very underweight and will need lots of feeding. They are beautiful bunnies and we hope they will find a new home one day.

Natasha and Cookie

Species: rabbit
Breed: Dutch cross breed
Gender: female, not spayed
Age: 1 year
Status: adoptable

natcook

Natasha and Cookie are very bouncy and lively and enjoy lots of time out of their cage to run around. They are confident bunnies who are used to people and children, and will come up to you if you hold out a tasty treat. They are very bright and inquisitive.

Dante and Virgil

Species: rabbit
Breed: mini-lop cross
Gender: male, not neutered
Age: 4 years
Status: adoptable

virgil

Just Virgil in this picture!

Very gentle and friendly bunnies, Dante and Virgil enjoy chasing and grooming each other, and, unlike most bunnies, will settle down on your lap for a quick snooze. They are very docile, but enjoy having time to run around and like all bunnies know their own minds. They love parsley and carrots.

Jake

Species: rabbit
Breed: dwarf lop
Gender: male, not neutered
Age: 3 years
Status: adoptable

jake

Jake is a very friendly, lively and affectionate rabbit who enjoys lots of attention. He is used to children and dogs. He runs around your feet until you give him attention, and is very interested in what you are doing. He would be an ideal bunny for someone who has a lot of time to spend with their rabbit. He likes lots of time out of his cage to run around and interact with people.

Twiglet - Fostered

Species: rabbit
Breed: cross-breed
Gender: male, neutered
Colour: yellow-black
Age: 3 years
Status: adoptable

He is another very laid back bunny. He is a beautiful colour and very placid. Rabbit are incredibly social and thrive in the company of other rabbits, so we hope to find Twiglet a friend to cuddle and keep him company.

Mittens

Species: rabbit
Breed: long-haired cross breed
Gender: female, un-spayed
Colour: white with brown/black splodges
Age: 5 months
Status: adoptable

dscf3587

Mittens is the sister of the two boys listed below. She was brought to us at the same time as they were. Unfortunately she had been mis-sexed and housed with one of the boys, so she came in to us pregnant. A few weeks after arriving she gave birth to two kits, and sadly neither of them survived. After a vet check she is now doing fine and is a remarkably tame, friendly bunny. We hope she will find a wonderful forever home with a gentle owner and move on from her traumatic start in life.

Presley - RESERVED!

Species: rabbit
Breed: mini-lop/lionhead cross
Gender: male, un-neutered
Colour: black
Age: ~10 months
Status: adoptable

presley

One of our most friendly and lovable bunnies, Presley unfortunately had to be given up when his owner became too ill to look after him. He is extremly friendly and will hop up onto your lap for attention and a hug. He loves to run around and is hard to take photos of because he is so fast! He really enjoys human company, and is very active and playful.

As he is a lionhead and has slightly longer hair, he will need to be groomed regularly. We hope that he can be neutered soon so he can make friends with another rabbit.

Penny

Species: rabbit
Breed: cross breed
Gender: female, un-spayed
Colour: white with black spots
Age: 4 months
Status: adoptable

penny1

Penny was abandoned on Christmas Eve along with her mother and brothers. Of all these bunnies she is the one who has had the hardest time. She is very frightened and shy, and will need a new owner with lots of patience, in a nice quiet, stable home.

She is a bunny that thrives on routine and the space to hide away when she feels threatened.

Sadly Penny shows us that the emotional wounds our rescue pets have are often the slowest and hardest to heal.

Guinea Pigs

Daisy and Fudge - ADOPTED!

Species: guinea pig
Breed: smooth, crested
Gender: female
Colour: agouti and yellow, and tri-coloured
Age: 6 and a half years
Status: adoptable

daisyfudge1

Daisy and Fudge are our old ladies. At over 6 years old they are rather elderly guinea pigs who are nonetheless in great health. They love to relax and take life easy, and would suit a home where they would not be over excited or over handled, although they do love to come out and sit quietly on your lap and fall asleep!

Rats

Tweedle-dum - ADOPTED by Sanni!

Species: rat
Breed: fancy rat
Gender: male
Colour: black berkshire
Age: 1 year
Status: adopted
Tweedle-dum and his brother Tweedle-dee came to us a few weeks before Christmas. They were rescued from being "released" into the wild by their previous owner, where they would have died either from a predator such as a cat or from starving or freezing to death.

Tweedle-dee - ADOPTED by Sanni!

Species: rat
Breed: fancy rat
Gender: male
Colour: black berkshire (with nick in ear)
Age: 1 year
Status: adopted

I hope these two find a really good home where they can have lots of cuddles. Their favourite thing in the world is to sit in your lap and be tickled behind the ears.
