Welcome Surrender Adopt Foster Sponsor Boarding Care Info Fun Donate Contact

Paws Here is a no-kill rabbit and rodent rescue in Edinburgh, Scotland. Founded in 2007 by owner Rachel, Paws Here has rehomed hundreds of abandoned, unwanted and mistreated animals. We receive no outside funding, and depend entirely on donations to survive.

For five years the shelter was run from premises in the Comiston area, however recently we have changed the way we run so that our animals are cared for exclusively in foster homes until their forever homes are found. This gives our sweet pets, many of whom are old, sick or have been badly treated, the chance to be part of a family again, and to grow, thrive and recover with the wonderful one-on-one care that our dedicated foster families can provide while they wait for their permanent home. Importantly, it also ensures that all of our fundraising goes to support the animals themselves, covering essential costs such as vet care rather than rent and utility bills.

If you are considering adopting a small animal, please get in touch. We are in urgent need of good, safe homes for rabbits especially, although we often have guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and other small pets also looking for loving homes.

If you feel able to provide foster care for a pet until it can be rehomed, we would be very happy to hear from you.

As a continuation of the pet boarding service the shelter used to provide, Rachel is able to board a very small number of pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, chinchillas, degus, gerbils, mice etc) at her home, where they will get a lot of attention and love in a safe, indoor, home environment while you are away. Places are extremely limited, so please contact us well in advance of your holiday to avoid disappointment.
